## Abstract An interionic potential model is developed which incorporates the effects due to the longโ€range Coulomb and threeโ€body interactions and the shortโ€”range overlap repulsion operative up to the secondโ€neighbour ions, and van der Waals dipoleโ€dipole and dipoleโ€”quadrupole attractions. The use
