✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The characteristics of a double printed UWB dipole antenna with two U‐shape arms are investigated both in frequency domain and time domain. Some reasonable theoretical analyses are proposed. Transmitting antenna transfer function, receiving antenna transfer function, and antenna system function are used to describe the antenna performance. Flat amplitude and linear phase responses of the transmitting antenna transfer function are observed in 3.0–8 GHz. Impulse responses for both single band and multiband schemers are studied in time domain. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this article, a double‐printed dipole antenna with band‐notched function for UWB applications is proposed and investigated. The band‐notched characteristic is achieved by inserting two U‐shaped slots on the dipole. Experimental and numerical results show that the proposed antenna mee
