The technique of multiple-quantum J-resolved NMR spectroscopy (MQ-JRES) is introduced and applied to the spin system SI 3 -M (such as in the example given here, the 13 CH 3 -12 CH in alanine). The SI 3 spin system was excited to its highest quantum state (8S y I x I y I y ), which consists of four c

Abstract
^29^Si^1^H coupling constants across two and three bonds in silatranes and model triethoxysilanes were measured from ^1^H spectra by multiple quantum NMR. There was an increase in the ^29^SiOCH coupling in the equatorial position and a decrease in that in the axial position of the silicon trigonal bipyramid compared with the tetracoordinated silicon.

The results for the residual dipolar interactions were verified by repeating the above measurements at a temperature of 1.5°C, where the spectra of the H 2 O molecules were well resolved, so that the 1 H-1 H dipolar interaction could be determined directly from the observed splitt
