The authors studied the inftuence of adrenaline-like substances and acetylcholine on the protoplasmic streaming in Physarella oblonga, investigating the effect on the duration of the rhythmic period. Adrenaline and noradrenaline proved to cause a shortening, whereas acetylcholine appeared to be capa
