โฆ Synopsis
Thermoelectric polycrystalline ceramic materials were prepared by a new ceramic technology. Samples of p-type 72% Sb2Te3 + 25% Bi2Te 3 + 3% Sb2Se a doped with tellurium and 90% Bi2Te a + 5% Sb2Te3 + 5% Sb2Se 3 doped with Sbl 3 or Agl were studied. The new ceramic cooling materials have an inhomogeneous structure, but higher mechanical strength and thermoelectric properties. The method is simpler than the Bridgman and powder metallurgy processes. Measurements of properties show that sintering temperature and time effect the thermoelectric properties of the samples. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the polycrystalline ceramic materials have an obvious layered structure. The doping of the materials was studied, including doping variety and doping concentration. The figure of merit for n-type doped with Sbl a is 2.9 x 10 -a K -1, while that for p-type doped with tellurium is 3.1 xl0 -3 K -1

In order to investigate the pore structure and its influence on the material properties of cement-based piezoelectric ceramic composites, specimens with different ceramic/cement ratio of composite are prepared. The pore structure of composite is obtained by using mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP).
Si-Ti-C-O fibre-bonded ceramic material was synthesized from pre-oxidized Si-Ti-C-O fibre with an oxide layer 400-600 nm thick, by hot-pressing at 2023 K under 50-70 MPa. The interstices in the Si-Ti-C-O fibre-bonded ceramic material were packed with an oxide material which existed on the surface of
