✦ Synopsis

The photochemically initiated reactions and the atmospherically initiated reactions of alkyl aryl tellurides with electron-deficient heteroaromatic bases in the presence of N-acetoxy-2-thiopyridone and triethylborane, respectively, have been investigated. These reactions were applied to the preparation of carbocyclic four-membered C-nucleoside analogs.
