β¦ Synopsis
The dielectric properties of both raw and beneficiated fractions of a Jharia coal sample were measured in the frequency range 100 kHZ-12 MHZ. It has been observed that as ash yield increases, dielectric constant also increases. An empirical relation A = ae3 + b has been proposed, where A is the ash yield (wt %), E is intrinsic dielectric constant and a and b are constants. However, no correlation was observed between ash yield and loss-tangent. All samples showed a loss-tangent peak at z4 MHz.
