โœฆ Synopsis

Metal-containing copolyurethanes having ionic linkages in the main chain were synthesized by the polyaddition reaction of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI) or toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (TDI) with 1:1 mixtures of divalent metal salts of 21 21 21 21 mono(hydroxypentyl)phthalate, [M(HPP)] (where M 5 Ca , Cd , Pb and Zn ), and diethylene glycol (DG) by using 2 1

di-n-butyltin dilaurate (DBTDL) as catalyst. The prepared coployurethanes were characterized by FT-IR, H-NMR, 13 C-NMR, elemental analysis, solubility, viscosity and X-ray diffraction studies. Thermal properties of the polymers were also studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The antibacterial activity of these polymers has also been investigated by agar diffusion method.

Electrochemical properties of hydrogen storage alloys (AB 5 type: LaMm-Ni 4.1 Al 0.3 Mn 0.4 Co 0.45 ) were studied in 6 M KOHaq using Limited Volume Electrode (LVE) method. Working electrodes were prepared by pressing alloy powder (without binding and conducting additives) into a metal net wire serv
