Studies on Etching Behaviour of (101) Faces of Natural Mesolite Crystals

Etching behaviour of { 101) habit faces of natural mesolite crystals is reported. Rectangular, truncated and elliptical etch pits are illustrated, and mechanism of their formation is assessed. Factors influencing kinetics of etching are discussed. From Arrhenius plots activation energy and pre-exponential factor are computed and reported.
