✦ Synopsis
In this paper the furtner research results of improving economic property of EC method was discussed. In order to reduce the cost and raise tne n&idling efficienty, five different technological processes have been set up and studied. The best one was the using iron electrode and aerating for raw water combine with reusing floes. It can reduoe 60% of handling cost in comparison witn aluminium electrode and remove 75% of nardness.
RRSPACE
Plectrodialysis or Reverse Osmosis is a effective method to desalinat the brackish water and was used in many countries. When the necessaty technology of pretreatment was not adopted, the serious scale frequently formed inside of ED or RO and lead to operafiag difficulties and loss of efficiency. In the near years, the EC as new method of pretreatment process of desalinating brackish water has been studied and tne technical feasibility has been confirmed. The EC not only can efficaciously reduce the turbidity of water but also can remove some kind of ions, Ca '+, Mg'+, HCO 3-, S042-and so on, existihg in the water and retard the scale in ED or HO. The aluminium plate as a electrode material in common used for EC is expensive and is easy to cause the passivation, so it is not ideal. In this paper, while the mechanism of removing ions for EC was expounded and the five different teonnological processes were tested and the best one was determined. Now the pretyeatment process of brackish water using RC is already used in a special water treatment vehicle in China. kl.dCRANIdlu UY ninovINNG IONS Tne some ions in the brackish water can be removed partly by EC through filteration and/or sendimentation. Its mechanism already had been studied and published in 1387. Under the effect of D.
