## Abstract The addition of burning rate enhancers or suppressers in solid propellant composition is seen to affect the energy level considerably. In the present paper, an attempt is made to quantify such effects. Even though the study is carried out over the theoretical values of the performance p

โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
Burn rates of polyvinylnitrate (PVN) without and with addition of 1% by weight of ballistic modifiers, viz. carbon black, lead stearate, lead gallate and lead salicylate, have been determined at different pressures ranging form 10 kg/cm^2^ to 85 kg/cm^2^. The burn rate data show deviations from the standard ballistic equations r = a + bp and r = ap^n^. Nearly plateau burning effect is shown, at lower pressure range, by gelatinized PVN, PVN + 1% lead stearate and PVN + 1% lead gallate, whereas mesa burning is shown by PVN + 1% lead gallate (at p = 40 โ 50 kg/cm^2^) and PVN + 1% lead stearate (at p = 70 to 74 kg/cm^2^).

Effects of squish area location on tumble and squish flow were investigated to control the knock in an SI engine. For the exhaust squish piston, tumble flow is collapsed by the exhaust squish clearance during the compression stroke, so that the compressionsquish flow is strong. For the intake squish
## Abstract Metal complexes having the potential to modify the burn rate of rocket propellants are described. These are the diaminoglyoxime (DAG) complexes: Co(DAGโH)~2~ยทDAG, Cu(DAGโH)~2~ยทDAG, Ni(DAGโH)~2~ and Pd(DAGโH)~2~. The thermal decomposition was characterized by DSC, TGA and IR spectroscopy
