Linseed oil when percolated through a molten azeotropic salt bath, transforms into a bodied heterogeneous mass separating into two layers on keeping, This bodied oil has been fractionated by acetone into one soluble and another, insoluble, fraction. 'The acetone insoluble fraction has been fractionated further by applying chromatographic technique and by normal alcohols. The methyl esters of the acetone soluble and the insoluble fractions have been fractionated by urea. The analyses of these. fractions suggest that the heterogeneity of the products may be caused by the interaction of oxirane and hydroxyl so as to form ethers which have thereafter undergone crosslinking under influence of the ions in the bath. Studien iiber eine neue Art von Standol I Leinol wird beim Durchleiten durch ein geschmolzenes Salzbad in eine viskose heterogene Masse umgewandelt, die sich beim Aufbewahren in zwei Schichten trennt. Das erhaltene Stand01 wurde mit Hilfe von Aceton in eine in Aceton losliche und in eine unlosliche Fraktion zerlegt. Die in Aceton unlosliche Fraktion wurde mit Hilfe der Chromatographie und normaler Alkohole weiter aufgetrennt. Die Methylester der in Aceton loslichen und der unloslichen Fraktion wurden mit Hilfe von Harnstoff fraktioniert. Die Analysen dieser Fraktionen deuten darauf hin, dal3 die Heterogenitat der Produkte durch die Wechselwirkung von Oxiran-und Hydroxyl-Gruppen unter Atherbildung verursacht wird, die danach dur& den Einflul) der Ionen in de.m Salzbad eine Vernetzung bewirken.
