โฆ Synopsis
Photorefractive field properties of MnO doped near stoichiometric LiNbO 3 crystals were studied. The crystals have been grown by the top seeded solution growth method by adding K 2 O flux to Li 2 O-Nb 2 O 5 melt. Their IR spectra and domain structures showed that the crystals were near stoichiometric. From the results of the two-wave coupling experiments of the crystals, the effective charge density N eff , the maximum saturation field E q , the photovoltaic field E ph , the diffusion field E d , and the space charge field E sc were calculated by iterative method.

Near-stoichiometric LiNbO 3 single crystal tri-doped with ZrO 2 , MnO and Fe 2 O 3 was grown from Li-riched melt by Czochralski method. The defect structures and composition of these crystals were analyzed by means of ultraviolet-visible and infrared transmittance spectra. The appearance of 3466 cm
