โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

It was found that the highly covalent nature of the metalโ€ligand interactions in the Feโ€S cluster clearly played an important role in determining the reactivity of the sites. A semiโ€empirical model, based on the Phillips theory of bonding was developed for quantitative explanation of covalency in Feโ€S cluster, showing that Mossbauer spectroscopy and electronic absorption spectroscopy provided the direct experimental probe of covalency of Feโ€S~4~ clusters.

## Abstract The model ironโ€sulfur (Feโ€S) protein ferredoxin (Fd) from __Synechocystis sp__. PCC 6803 has been simultaneously produced and matured in a cellโ€free production system. After 6 h of incubation at 37ยฐC, Fd accumulated to >450 ยตg/mL. Essentially all was soluble, and 85% was active. Product
