โฆ Synopsis
The effect of reaction conditions on the grafting parameter during grafting of acrylamide onto guar gum has been studied using peroxydiphosphateยฑmetabisulphite redox pair at 35 ยฐC. Grafting ratio, efยฎciency and add-on all increase as the concentrations of peroxydiphosphate and acrylamide increase up to 40.0 ร 10 ร3 mol dm ร3 and 40.0 ร 10 ร2 mol dm ร3 , respectively. It has been observed that the optimum concentrations of metabisulphite and guar gum for obtaining high grafting ratio, efยฎciency, add-on and conversion are 6.0 ร 10 ร3 mol dm ร3 and 91.7 ร 10 ร2 g dm ร3 , respectively.

## Abstract The effect of different reaction conditions on the grafting of methyl methacrylate (MMA) onto guar gum (GG) has been studied in detail. The grafting efficiency was optimal under the following conditions: MMA at 1.13 mol/L; ceric ammonium sulfate at 6.32 ร 10^โ3^ mol/L; dextrose monohydr
