## Abstract The title compound is a mono-thionated derivative of the diketopyrrolopyrrole red-pigment on the market. The crystal data are: C~18~H~12~N~2~OS, __M__ ~r~ = 304.37, monoclinic, __P__2~1~/__n__, __a__ = 7.570(3) Å, __b__ = 4.869(3) Å, __c__ = 19.616(4) Å, __β__ = 99.07(3)°, __V__ = 714.0
Á2CHCl 3 , a diketopyrrolopyrrole analogue (red pigment), has C i symmetry and the phenyl rings are at an angle of 53.5 (1) to the planar heterocylic ring system.
The title compound, C 16 H 10 N 4 O 2 , is an organic red pigment utilized for hydrogen gas sensors. The centrosymmetric diketopyrrolopyrrole is nearly planar and is linked to four neighbouring molecules via N-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds to form a two-dimensional network in the (201) plane.
