The title compound, Y(HP~2~O~7~)·3H~2~O, is isostructural with __Ln__(HP~2~O~7~)·3H~2~O (__Ln__ = Gd, Er). The YO~8~ units and (HP~2~O~7~)^3−^ anions form sheets parallel to __ab__ and a network of O—H...O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the crystal packing.
