## Pt.&e substituted tungsten carbonyls are shown to be useful model compounds for studying metal binding sites of nucleic acid components. Elemental analysis, molecubtr weight determinations, 'H nmr and ir data reveal that 6-mercaptopurine is capable of acting both as a monodentate S(6)-bonded and
