✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Mass analysed ion kinetic energy and collision induced dissociation spectra show that C‐chloro‐1, 2, 4‐triazole can be generated in three different tautomeric forms by ethylene elimination from the N‐ethyl compounds and these ions retain their structure prior to further fragmentation.
5‐ and predominantly 3‐chlorotriazole structures are responsible for the mass spectrum of the parent heterocycle.

## Abstract The little compound, a useful reagent in biochemistry, has been synthasised in 14 steps from barium carbonate ^14^C via benzene ^14^C‐U, through aniline ^14^C‐U, p‐aminobenzene oulfamide ^14^C‐U and 2, 6 dichloroaniline ^14^ C(U). The axidation of the latter into 2,6 dichloronitrosobenz
