## Abstract We model meson melting in a hot plasma by the quasinormal modes of D7‐brane fluctuations of embeddings that fall into the horizon of a black hole in Ads~5~ × S^5^ geometry. The inverse of the imaginary part of the quasinormal frequency gives the lifetime of the meson in the plasma. We b
