Structure and bonding in d~azocycIopentad~ene and its core ionized states has been investigated by non-empiricai LCAO MO SCF calculations and by JZSCA. Shake-up satellites nccompsnying core ionizations hare been interpreted in terms of tbe sudden appiosimation and CNI)O formalism. Theoretical studies of the Ioxver valence ionized states confirm the assignment of the recently published UPS(He1) experimental data.
