To profit from the concept of metabolite antagonism in the area of schistosomiasis chemotherapy, new compounds containing combinations of both substituted pyrimidine (closely related t o the pyrimidine moiety present in thiamine) and 5-nitrothiazole or 24midazolidinethione moieties were synthesized.
