✦ Synopsis

This paper reports on X.A.F.S. studies of the active species catalysing the oxychlorination of ethylene. Using a special, reduced scale reactor, we tried to reproduce the JucceJsive Jteps of a catalytic reaction in order to identify the typical 'EXAFS-pattern" of the chemical Jpecies formed during normal operation. Comparisons were made between two catalysts which are both routinely used in industrial plants. Major results were derived from Cu* K-edge experiments but useful complementary information was also extracted from spectra recorded at the Cl* K-edge.

## Abstract The intermolecular structural heterogeneity of a propylene‐ethylene random copolymer was studied by preparative temperature rising elution fractionation combined with GPC, ^13^C‐NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, and wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction analysis of the obtained fractions.
