β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Reactive Blue 19 (RB 19), its reactive form (RB 19βVS) and its hydrolyzed form (RB 19βOH) were examined using liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry/tandem mass spectrometry (LSIMS/MS/MS) in the negativeβion mode under lowβenergy collision conditions (240β300 eV). Structurally characteristic fragment ions were obtained, none of which has been previously reported for these reactive dyes. Among the ions obtained were SO~3~^β^ ions, ions due to central amino cleavage and reactive group cleavage, and ions due to loss of SO~3~ and SO~2~. Possible pathways for the formation of product ions are proposed. The structural information obtained should help to characterize and identify reactive dyes better.

Several furanosidic derivatives have been found to have biological activity and have been used both as fungicides and plant growth regulators. In particular, those carbohydrate derivatives that contain the a-methyleney lactone unit have interesting potential applications. The present study deals wit
## Abstract Metabolic activation of a drug leading to reactive metabolite(s) that can covalently modify proteins is considered an initial step that may lead to drugβinduced organ toxicities. Characterization of reactive metabolites is critical to designing new drug candidates with an improved toxic
