Polycrystalline samples of a fine-grained yttria partially stabilized zirconia have been superplastically compressed between 1220 and 1330°C up to strains near lOO%, in an initial strain rate range varying from 1.2 x lo-' to 1.2 x lO-$s. The electron microscope observations have shown that the structural evolution of the samples (grain size, grain shape) was weak during these tests. The principal difference resided in the formation of cavities, the density of which was nevertheless small. A topological study has shown that the evolution of the distribution function of grain type (grain side number in a planar section) was also very slight during deformation.

Les principales observations microscopiques mettent en evidence la faible evolution structurale du mat&au (taille et forme des grains) au tours de ces essais. La cavitation qui y apparait Etre la principale m~ifi~tion reste faible. L'etude topologique entreprise montre egalement que la fonction de distribution du type de grain (nombre de cot& dun grain darts une coupe plane) a peu holue au tours de la deformation.

Proben eines feinkiimigen, mit Yt~umoxid teilstabilisierten Zirkonoxids werden zwischen 1220 und 1330°C bis zu 100% Dehnung bei anfanglichen Verformungsraten zwischen I,2 x IO-' und 1,2 x 10e4/s superplastisch gestaucht. Elektronenmikroskopisch findet sich nur eine geringe Anderung in der Struktur der Proben (KorngriiBe, Komform). Ais wichtiger Befund ergab sich die Bildung von Poren, deren Dichte jedoch gering blieb. Eine topologische Untersuchung fiihrt zu dem Ergebnis, da13 die Entwicklung der Verteilungsfunktionen der Komtypen (Anzahl der Kornkanten in einem ebenen Schnitt) wlhrend der Verformung such sehr gering war.
