## Abstract The reaction of Cu(ClO~4~)~2~·6H~2~O with RPO~3~H~2~ (R = cyclopentyl, isopropyl, trichloromethyl) in the presence of chelating nitrogen ligands bpya or bpy afforded dinuclear copper phosphonates [Cu~2~(μ~2~‐C~5~H~9~PO~3~)~2~(bpya)~2~(H~2~O)~2~] (H~2~O)~4~ (1), [Cu~2~(μ~2~‐C~3~H~7~PO~3~
## Abstract 1,2,4‐Triphenyl‐1,3,5‐triazapentadiene (1a), prepared from benzamidine and __N__‐phenylbenzimidoyl chloride, was treated at room temperature with CoCl~2~, Ni(NO~3~)~2~, Na~2~PdCl~4~, CuCl~2~ and ZnCl~2~ to form the corresponding six‐membered 1:1 chelate complexes 1a·CoCl~2~, 1a·Ni(NO~3~
Two new polynuclear complexes of Cu II , [Cu 2 (fum)(µ-OH)(bpy) 2 (H 2 O)](NO 3 )•2H 2 O (1) (fum = fumarate dianion, bpy = 2,2Ј-bipyridine) and [Cu(fum)(tmen)]•2H 2 O (2) (tmen = N,N,NЈ,NЈ-tetramethylethane-1,2-diamine), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.
