โฆ Synopsis
The phosphate Cu I 0.5 Mn II 0.25 Zr 2 (PO 4 ) 3 can be obtained at 10003C by exchange reaction in Cu II 0.5 Zr 2 (PO 4 ) 3 . It crystallizes in the rhombohedral system (space group R3 ) with the parameters a h โซุโฌ 8.8352(1) A s and c h โซุโฌ 22.254(5) A s in the equivalent hexagonal cell. The structure re5ned by the Rietveld method is typical of Nasicon-type structure. Mn 2 ุ ions occupy partially the M 1 site, while Cu ุ ions are distributed over the M 1 and M 2 sites generated by the space group. This compound exhibits two 6uorescences, occurring in the violet and orange regions and assigned respectively to isolated Cu ุ and Mn 2 ุ ions. Two other luminescences detected in the blue and green range at low temperature correspond respectively to (Cu 2 ) ุ and (Cu ุ ) 2 pairs. E7cient energy transfer Cu ุ PMn 2 ุ is observed at room temperature strengthening the orange emission of Mn 2 ุ in the M 1 site.
