β¦ Synopsis
We performed synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction experiments on the filled skutterudite PrRu 4 P 12 at high pressure and low temperature to investigate the role of structural changes in the metallization and superconducting transition above 11 GPa. We compared the structural parameters between the insulating and metallic phases. An anomalous enhancement of the P atomic displacement is observed at 17.0 GPa and 10 K away from the Ru 8 cubic sublattice are observed. This change may play a key role to the metallization at higher pressure.

An algorithm of calculation of equilibrium composition of complex chemically reacting systems at high pressure and temperature is described. The algorithm, which was used for the development of a computer code, may be applied for examination of various classes of thermodynamic systems, but its princ
