โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

This article is a brief introduction to different aspects of string theory on maximally supersymmetric plane waves in ten dimensions. The article touches on the following aspects: quantization of free strings on the plane wave background, the plane wave as a Penrose limit and it's relation to AdS / CFT; and finally the causal structure of the plane wave and holography.

## Abstract In these proceedings, we summarize our studies of free string propagation in (nearโ€)singular scaleโ€invariant plane wave geometries. We analyze the singular limit of the evolution for the centerโ€ofโ€mass motion and all excited string modes. The requirement that the entire excitation energ
