0 Sewarine, a phenolic alkaloid from Rhazya stricta, is assigned the structure Dhydroxyakuammicine on the basis of chemical reactions and spectral data. Sewarine is the second phenolic akuammicine alkaloid to be isolated from natural sources. NMR and mass spectral data are discussed in detail.
