Abstract
In this paper we prove that the strict topology on spaces of continuous and holomorphic functions on a BANACH space can be considered a mixed topology. Using this fact, we obtain new results about the strict topology, as an application of the general properties of mixed topologies.

Extending Lowen's notion of strong fuzzy compactness to an arbitrary fuzzy set the notion of a starplus-compact fuzzy set is introduced. It is shown that the category of starplus-compact fuzzy topological spaces is productive, and that starplus-compactness is a good extension of the notion of compac
An example of a Frechet space E is given such that the space of n-homogeneous Δontinuous polynomials on E, endowed with any of the natural topologies usually considered on it, is quasinormable for every n g N. This space has the particularity that all the natural topologies are different on it for n
## Abstract Let __X__(ΞΌ) be a Banach function space. In this paper we introduce two new geometric notions, __q__βconvexity and weak __q__βconvexity associated to a subset __S__ of the unit ball of the dual of __X__(ΞΌ), 1 β€ __q__ < β. We prove that in the general case both notions are not equivalent
This paper continues the study of spectral synthesis and the topologies t 1 and t r on the ideal space of a Banach algebra, concentrating on the class of Banach \* -algebras, and in particular on L 1 -group algebras. It is shown that if a group G is a finite extension of an abelian group then t r is
