## Abstract Results are presented of measurements of stratospheric water vapour over Mildura (34Β°S 140Β°E) Australia. The mean mixing ratio between 15 and 21 km is approximately 2–7ppm and is closely approximated below 15km by an exponential profile with a height constant of 2–4km.

## Abstract Trends in total ozone for the period 1963–1974 at Australian stations Darwin, Brisbane, Aspendale and Macquarie Island have been discussed. Only Aspendale has a decreasing trend, which may be statistically significant. Trends in ozone at other places are not statistically significant.

## Abstract This study uses an analytical model, based on the cooling‐to‐space approximation, and a fixed dynamical heating model to investigate the structure of the stratospheric cooling that occurs in response to a uniform increase in stratospheric water vapour (SWV). At all latitudes, the larges

## Abstract The water‐vapour content of the stratosphere has been deduced from records of the solar spectrum observed from a Canberra aircraft at altitudes up to 48,000 ft. The spectral region 3,790‐3,860 cm^βˆ’1^ in the 2Β·7 ΞΌ band has been separated into four groups of absorption lines whose rates o
