✦ Synopsis

This chapter offers reflections on and lessons about methods for conducting strategy evaluation based on and extracted from various strategy evaluations. The approach offered builds on both reflective practice and developmental evaluation. The chapter operationalizes the Minztberg framework for the social sector and addresses issues such as how to consider strategy boundaries, the strategy-making entity, sources and types of data, unit of analysis, and types of analysis. It offers ideas about how to apply the approach in evaluations of both a retrospective or prospective nature.
