Abstract
An investigation is made of the angular variations of EPR linewidths of 3d^5^ ions in crystals with T~d~ symmetry where the effect of internal shear stresses is preponderant. Broadening depends on the R tensor describing the Stark effect and on a single parameter related to the fluctuations of the internal electric field. The chosen model applies correctly to the Fe^3+^ centre in cubic ZnS.
