Stolen Magic Episode 11 of Season One...

Agmos has closed the Grim Corp borders and casually mentions to Dex that he's aware there are Council hunters in Seattle which means he knows exactly who Nova really is. There's a chance he even knows that Dex has been secretly seeing her.

When he asks Dex to set up a meeting with the hunters, Dex knows what that means. Agmos had promised him the last time he'd been romantically involved with someone that he would torture them like the others until they turn on him – trying to prove that people were fickle and capricious and the only one who wasn't was Agmos.

Nova promises that she can handle the demon, that she would do whatever she had to keep Dex, but that's not what Dex was worried about. He was worried that having to watch something like that again would trigger him and he'd become nothing but that sociopathic angel.

The only thing that convinces him this might work, is Nova's promise to kill him if it comes down to it.
