The stereochemistry and conformational behaviour of a new heterocyclic system obtained by the 1,3‐dipolar cyclo‐addition of 3,4,5,6‐tetrahydropyridine 1‐oxide to hex‐2‐en‐6‐olide has been studied by ^1^H{^1^H} and ^13^C{^1^H} NOE techniques and MM2 calculations.
