Abstract
Abstract: Reactions between aniline and acrolein, crotonaldehyde or cinnamaldehyde were studied by ID and 2D ' H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and by GPC. In the first step, two main reactions cursimultaneously: the addition of the amino groups of aniline to the double bond and to the aldehyde group of the unsaturated
aldehydes. In thc ncxt step of the reaction high molecular weight, red coloured resins soluble in organic solvents are formed. The molecular weights of the resins depend on reaction conditions and on the type of unsaturated aldehyde. From the concentration dependence of different molecular weight products on reaction time the rateconstants werecalculated. It was found that the values for the rate constants depend on the type and quantity of catalyst, on the reaction media and on the type of aldehyde.
