Abstract
Much of the material reviewed in this article involves recent efforts to develop and apply nonlinear analysis methods for accurate limit states design of steelβframed structures. Beyond considerations related directly to methods of analysis, this includes reports of tests and other studies to provide behavioral information on members and connections. Emphasized in this review are topics related to overall frame behavior, including analysis methods and criteria for frame and beamβcolumn stability design, inelastic analysis and behavior of frames with rigid and semiβrigid connections, and inelastic deformation capacity as influenced by buckling and fracture behavior.
