✦ Synopsis
Price, $5.00. This textbook presents the basic principles and procedures related to stress analysis and design of simple structure. It is intended for use in those courses of study in engineering other than civil, which include a section on structures. Thus, fundamental, useful and practical material was selected, to provide a self-contained working book which eliminates the need for auxiliary handbooks.
The 1948 edition retains in Part I essentially the same material with the exception of Chapter 2, where up-to-date information on live loads is given. However, Part I I, which covers the design of simple structures, is completely rewritten and is consistent with the most recent specifications for designing structures. A new chapter on light-gage steel construction is added. Each chapter offers data for problems as an aid to class instruction.
