โฆ Synopsis
An enzyme electrode which uses the organic conductmg salt N-methylphenazmmm tetracyanoqumodnnethane (NMP TCNQ) IS reported A steady-state model for the electrode IS used to rdenbfy the rate-hnutmg step of the device Kmetlc parameters of the electrode are also obtamed from this model The model described here IS used to assess the process which controls the current produced by the sensor Thus amperometnc bmsensor uses yeast alcohol dehydrogenases as the enzyme for ethanol detectlon Lmear responses for ethanol m the range of 10 PM to 10 mM and a response tnne of 2-5 mm are obtamed The device also responds to butan-l-o1 and propan-2-ol The system 1s opt-d with regard to NAD+ concentratton m solution, the enzyme concentration behmd the membrane and the pore sue of the membrane covermg the electrode
