โฆ Synopsis
Gc phenotyping by immunoblotting is used in the State of Victoria as a rapid screening technique for blood and occasionally, semen evidence. Where no exclusion is obtained samples are further typed with the PCR-based DNA systems HLA-DQAl, DlS80 and HUMTHOl.
Victorian databases have been generated for these loci. All loci meet Hardy-Weinberg expectations and there is no detectable association between the four loci. The multiplication rule can, therefore. be applied to obtain an appropriate weighting of inclusionary evidence for use in criminal investigations and court proceedings.
