We consider a LotkaแVolterra competition model with diffusion on R which describes the dynamics of the population of two competing species, and study the stability of positive stationary solutions of the model relative to the space X of bounded uniformly continuous functions with the supremum norm.

A model for the extraction with liquid surfactant membranes (LSM) has been developed to account for the simultaneous mass transfer both inside and outside emulsion globules and the reaction between the diffusing component and the internal reagent. A perturbation solution of the resulting nonlinear e
