✦ Synopsis
Eect of uniaxial tensile and compressive stresses on critical temperatures T cm (midpoint of the transition curve) of superconducting composites (in situ formed Cu±Nb, and Cu±NbTi and bronze±Nb 3 Sn industrial wires were studied. Results obtained for Cu±Nb T cm are qualitatively similar to those for the composite resistive critical ®eld H r , presented in the ®rst part of this paper. Again, average derivative dT cm =dr for the Cu±Nb composite (as well as its dH r =dr) exceeds the respective value for pure Nb by about an order of magnitude. This and other results of the study are discussed.
