✦ Synopsis
Static Coating of Phenyl and Biphenyl Polysiloxane Stationary Phases mers, which are too bulky to fit. In the TRIMA column (not illustrated here) an increased retention of the p-isomer over 0-and mones is found also for the ethyltoluenes (see Fig. 1) because the smaller size of cavity in TRlMA (compared to TRIMEB) induces a stronger complexation even for smaller molecules.
3.2.1 Separation of Optical Isomers
Another feature of CDs and derivatives is their chiral structure, which behaves in certain cases as chiral recognition site. Figure 3 presents the almost baseline separation of two enantiomer pairs, which is not achievable on conventional stationary phases.
Further studies on the above and other CDs, and also on their application to gas-solid chromatography, are in progress.
