State-selected chemiionization cross sections of He* (2 1,3S)+Ar for collision energies from 0.003 to 5.5 eV

✦ Synopsis

In addition to the well-known thermal minimum, a hyperthermal minimum around 0.8 eV haa been found in the singlet chemiionization cross section. The hyperthermal triplet ionization curve shows the well-known behavior in the form of a saturation and a subsequent decline. The experimental data are compared with fXly quantum-mechanical optical potential calculations.
