โฆ Synopsis
This article describes the successful job application process of 4 assistant professors. Insights and caveats for prospective counselor education job applicants are offered.
Completing a doctoral dissertation is a major accomplishment and clear evidence of one's expertise in academic matters. Unfortunately, there is no proven correlation between academic expertise and the ability to secure an academic position (Mooney, 1990). Beginning with the application process for counselor education positions in higher education, this article reflects the descriptions and experiences of four doctoral graduates who successfully ob- tained university faculty positions.
