✦ Synopsis
Room-temperature-tunable, pulsed LiF:F 2 + * color center laser operation has been realized using the 575 nm pumping radiation from a YAG:Nd 3+ -laser-pumped LiF:F 2 À oscillator injection seeded by a low power 1150 nm He±Ne laser. The LiF:F 2 + * laser demonstrated stable and tunable operation in the 820±1200 nm region with 26% real eciency at the maximum of the tuning curve. 50% real eciency has been achieved for the LiF:F 2 + * laser in a free running operation using a nonselective plane Fabry±Perot optical resonator.
