✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The performance of an actively mode‐locked fiber‐ring laser with large dispersion cavity is described. The laser output characteristics remain stable for long periods of time without external adjustment. The very stable, transform‐limited optical pulses at a repetition rate of 10 GHz were obtained successfully in this laser over wavelengths ranging from 1530 to 1556 nm. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A wavelength‐tunable actively mode‐locked erbium fiber ring laser is demonstrated using an F–P semiconductor as a modulator and a tunable comb filler. Continuous wavelength tuning is enlarged to 6 nm by successively choosing different cavity modes of the F–P LD and tuning the temperatur

We have constructed a polarization-maintaining and dispersion-managed 10-GHz regeneratively mode-locked Erbium fiber ring laser which generates highly stable and nearly transform-limited 3.5-to 7-ps sech 2 pulses at 1560 nm. Robust passively mode-locked pulse generation with low pulse repetition rate and giant spectrum bandwidth in an all-fiber, all-normal-dispersion ytterbium-doped fiber laser has been experimentally demonstrated using nonlinear polarization evolution technique. The highest pulse energy over 20 nJ with
