The methylhafnocene cation 2a reacts with bispropynylzircobis(phenylacety1ide)hafnocene (3b) gives the pure regioisonocene to give a single regioisomeric planar-tetracoordinate mer 4 b with an opposite relative arrangement of the two carbon compound (4a) that contains the hafnium atom singroup 4 trdnsition metals (the methyl is at the planar-tetragly-bonded and the zirconium center $-coordinated to the coordinate carbon atom C2).
