The simplest approach to the high mechanical forces in large superconducting electromagnets is to strengthen the conductor. Three methods of strengthening a superconducting alloy/copper composite conductor are examined. The results indicate the best method of strengthening is to work harden the copp

โฆ Synopsis
The stability performance of HTSC composite tapes with dynamic stabilization was studied. By comparing it with the energy of the possible disturbance in magnets, it was found that the stability performance of HTSC composite tapes with dynamic stabilization could be comparable to that of their low Tc cryostable counterparts. Because twisting and transposing might degrade the high current-carrying capacity of HTSC multi-core composites, the unnecessity of twisting and transposing was also discussed.

We performed a design study of sextupole magnet using high temperature superconducting (HTS) wires. The sextupole magnet is used as a focusing lens for neutron-focusing devices. A neutron-focusing device is desired to have a large aperture and a high magnetic field gradient of G, where G = 2B/r 2 ,
